We Have A New Interim Pastor!
Rev. Dr. Gareth Icenogle begins his interim ministry with our church on Sunday, April 2 at our 10:30am service. Immediately following the service there will be a meet and greet in the fellowship hall. Rev. Icenogle has degrees in ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, and music degrees from the University of California, Riverside and California State University of Los Angeles. His master’s degrees are in music (voice and composition) and divinity, and his doctorate is in ministry, with a focus on spiritual formation and discipleship. He has written an internationally used textbook on the theology, purposes, and dynamics of faith formation through small groups.
Gareth has served as pastor to several Presbyterian churches around the country: Most recently in La Canada , as well as Sherman Oaks, CA: Dallas, TX; Bethlehem, PA; Washington, D.C.; and Ridgewood, N.J.
Both natives of Southern California, Gareth and his wife, Vida Smith, have been married for 50 years. They have two adult daughters, Tamara and Tonya. Tonya is married to Evan Porter and they have two children, Amelia and Levi.
Our church is excited to welcome Gareth and Vida to the BurbankPres church family. Keep them in your prayers as we move forward in the Lord's work together. His first Sunday in the pulpit will be Easter Sunday at our 10:30am service.
