The Rodas Family

Dear BurbankPres Family,
It is with great gratitude, excitement, and sadness that I inform you that I have accepted a call to another church. It is a position that I will be able to be ordained in. As you may know, this is something that I have been working towards for many years. I have been in the ordination process for twenty years now. This is the completion of a journey that I began when I was in seminary.
At the same time Burbank Pres has been my family’s home for more than three and a half years. I am so very grateful for the friendship and love that we have experienced here. Our boys were baptized here. I worked on staff for three and a half years. My husband was ordained as an elder. We went through the pandemic together. And you supported us through my battle with breast cancer. Words cannot adequately express how grateful we are to have had this time to be a part of this loving neighborhood church. We are all very sad to have to leave, especially during this time of great transition. And yet, we also know that we all rest safely and securely in the hands of our Loving God. Our future is His.
I will begin my new position at First Presbyterian Church of Granada Hills on March 1. The plan is to be ordained sometime in May and be the Designated Associate Pastor there. I hope we will all be able to celebrate together at my ordination service which I plan to have here at Burbank Pres.
Thank you for all your support and encouragement. Our family loves this church. This has been a haven for us. And I personally have learned so much during our time with you. We will continue to pray for all of you as you continue forward in this transition time. We hope and pray for the Lord’s blessings to be poured out upon you all.
Blessings,
Niki Rodas
