Church Update May 12th, 2020

Church Update Covid-19
Dear BurbankPres Friends,

By now you've heard something in today's local news that the "stay-at-home orders" have been extended through July. As we've shared in previous updates, we will continue to abide by these orders from our local and state leaders until we've been given clear guidance on how we are to gather as a faith community. As shared this past Sunday in our online worship service, Pastor Ross, our ministry staff, and our church leadership will continue to discuss and prepare for how and when we are able to safely meet.

We will continue to gather for Sunday public worship "online" at 10:00am through Facebook Live and on our YouTube Channel. We recently have made some upgrades to our technology that will help us with our live streaming of the worship service and our hope is that these upgrades will be in place before the end of the month. These upgrades will also ensure that we can stream to both Facebook and YouTube at the same time. As some of you know we've been using multiple streaming sources, including a cell phone. Please pray that we can iron out all of the glitches to ensure all of us will be able to share in and participate in worship together that allow of us to hear and experience Christ and his love.

Coffee with the Pastors Via ZOOM May 18th 1:30pm
If you haven't yet participated in this, we invite you to join us every Monday at 1:30pm for coffee with the pastors. It's simply a time to check in, share, and pray together as a faith community, that believes God answers our prayers and is with us, especially during times of uncertainty, as all of us are experiencing the effects with what's happening around Covid-19. Email the church office for the ZOOM invite link at [email protected]

Wednesday Night Bible Study May 13th 7:00pm on Facebook Live
Join us this Wednesday night, May 14th at 7:00pm for our weekly Bible Study with Pastor Ross on Facebook Live. Pull up a chair, log in, and bring your Bible as we continue to study God's Word together as a faith community. Thank you to everyone who has participated and remember to share the live feed on your own page as a way of inviting others to the Bible Study We hope to see you online with us.

Sunday Morning Online Worship May 17th 10:00am
We will continue having our online worship service every Sunday at 10:00am on Facebook Live and our church YouTube Channel. We will continue to gather as a church for public worship and celebrate being the body of Christ together. We're still the church and the church is more than just a building and for this we give God thanks. Thanks to all of you who've been sharing it on your news-feeds on your own Facebook page. Let's keep inviting our circle of friends to come, watch, and listen and pray that God's message of hope will be received in an awesome way. Don't forget to contact our ministry staff regarding our ministries to children and youth online. Contact Katy our Youth Director or Kathy our Children's Ministries Director for details.

Faithful Giving –  As a reminder, you can mail in your giving to the church office (521 E. Olive Ave., Burbank 91501) or you can also give through our website at burbankpres.org/give, or through our church app, which you can find in any of the app stores. Even though we're not gathering together on a Sunday morning for public worship, God's mission hasn't changed. We believe God has called us to make disciples of everyone and that the love of God is shared no matter what's happening in the world. Please be in prayer for not just our church, but for all of the churches around the community and the world, that are working fervently at proclaiming God's love in new ways and during our stay at home orders.

If you need pray, don't hesitate to contact the church office through email at [email protected] Our prayer for you right now is that you are safe and well. Hear these words of encouragement from Zephaniah 3:17 "The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”

May this be our prayer as we continue to keep our eyes on the one who is with us always, gives an abundance of grace to us, and rejoices over all of us, no matter what is happening in our world. Amen and amen.

See you online soon.
