Church Update March 20th, 2020

Church Update Covid-19
By now you've heard that there has been a safer at home order given to residents of Los Angeles County. Unless we need to leave our homes for essential activities like going to the market, hardware store, or to the pharmacy, we're being asked to stay home. What does this mean for us as a church family? It means we continue being the church, but we will do church just a little differently.

Thank you to those who joined the live-stream on Facebook Live of Pastor Ross's Bible study this past Wednesday night. At one point there were around 41 viewers watching and listening to Ross share with us God's Word. In times like these, it's comforting to know that we can go to the scriptures for the shalom God gives to all of us in times of worry, especially as all of us are dealing with the concerns around the Coronavirus.

As you know by now, this coming Sunday morning, we're having only one worship service. The service will start at 10:00am live streamed on both Youtube and Facebook. We're asking everyone to stay away from the church and continue to practice social distancing encouraged by our local and state leaders earlier this afternoon. During our worship service, we will still have a few announcements, scripture, prayer, and a message from Pastor Ross. We will have some music that will add to our worship service. Pray for us as we navigate the waters of making sure all of us will be able to participate together in worship this coming Sunday morning at 10:00am.

If you need prayer, please don't hesitate to send us a prayer request by email at [email protected] or through the BurbankPres church app which can be downloaded from any of the app stores for Apple and Android devices.

Here these words this evening from Hebrews 10:24-25. "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

We're all in this together. We know the church is more than just a building. It's the people that gather that make up our church. Right now, this is a time where all of us need to be a little creative in how we encourage one another, even if we're not gathering together.  It's a time where we need to trust that God is very much the great physician and that God is with us and has always been with us, no matter what's happening in the world today.

As followers of Jesus, it's a time right now, where all of us need to be in prayer for one another, our neighbors, and for the world as we all put our hope and trust in God that we have nothing to be afraid of.

"So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

Hope you can join us on Sunday morning online at 10:00am.

Prayers for you all tonight.
